I have these exact children's Ikea extendable beds in my house (they aren't available anymore, the closest thing is the £86 Leksvik) and I can't say I'm overly enamoured with them. For a start, I'm not keen on pine, secondly, they are so low to the floor that it is virtually impossible to put storage boxes under them, though, naturally, all manner of toy rubbish finds their way under them (I've solved this problem by putting storage boxes under anyway and accessing them by lifting the matress. Not ideal).
Anyway, I digress... it never occured to me to paint the beds like the pale mint green in the picture which looks lots better than pine. I imagine there would be a fair amount of sanding first then at least two coats of paint but the end result would certainly pay off. [via Living Etc]

I just appreciate your great works that was truly creative. You've just done such vast work. I can see how your trying to make the functionality effectively neat.
