One thing I've very nearly fallen into the trap of is colour-genderising my children's rooms with my oldest boy having lots of blues and my daughter lots of pinks. I am constantly trying to re-educate myself, after all, why stick with pink and blue palettes when there are so many others colours out there? One thing I have done recently is to buy my daugher a beautiful orange and white duvet cover which is the same as in the picture below (Ikea).
What I particularly like about this room is that it doesn't scream boy or girl. With the bright bedding, geometric print rug and print curtains against the white backdrop, it really could belong to either gender.
It is in fact the room of Luca, son of Rebecca Robertson and Marco Pasanella who reside in NYC. Well done, I say, for creating such a lovely space. [Ohdeedoh via Martha Stewart Living]
