I always think that books define a person and I just love seeing which authors people have on their shelves. Being a bookish person from a bookish family, I even find it a bit odd when I can't even see the hint of a book in a home. Anyway, that leads me to this intriguing bit of furniture. The different sized slots take different sized books which spike out giving it a porcupine effect and they also have coloured innards to give a flash of colour when the slots aren't occupied. It doesn't look like you can do much else with it (no coffee cup space) and you might find the £950 price tag on the ouchy side.

I like this design a lot. It would look great in a contemporary living room or study. However, I think I'd want it in a different colour, perhaps even in bare wood. Just imagine it in stainless steel, now that would be good.
