V&A "Cherry on the Cake" prints

I'm always on the look out for new artwork and the V&A is currently selling a great range of the latest and greatest with artworks by the likes of Rob Ryan and Fred Butler. The 'Cherry on the Cake' range is their designer collection. Now in its third year, its focus is paper and uses media such as typography and laser-cut. I really like the Nina Chakrabarti print that looks like a patchwork and the James Brown print that utilises that motto many decor bloggers know and love. The prints are limited edition, unframed and cost from £15. Selina Rose pink felt butterfly rug

 

It's things like this that makes my heart sing. I love the vibrant pink, the punched out butterflies and leaves and the circular shape. It's wool felt and would like great in a bedroom, reading nook or sunroom if you can bear to part with £450 at Selina Rose.

Helen's Orla Kiely staircase

I'm hoping my occasional Hygge Nook co-writer Keris will like this fantastic use of Orla Kiely wallpaper. In the July issue of LivingEtc (p64), home owner Helen - who also writes a blog here - has this great staircase with an orange print paper that really pops.

I think the wallpaper used here is the multistem paper which retails for around £59 a roll but you'd probably need less than one roll to recreate the look. Isn't it fabulous?

Madeline Weinrib's colourful rugs

Rugs are really useful for defining spaces and also for warming up wooden floors not to mention diguising carpets in a rental. I'm growing quite fond of Madeline Weinrib's elegant rugs. I'd happily have either of these two in my room (top Strawberry Stripe, then Megan Goldrod in various sizes). She's also branched out into homewares with a particular vivacious collection of pillows and block printed quilts.
