Children's bedding and other pretties at Lulu & Nat

Lulu and Nat have been going for a year now with one half of the team (Lulu) based in India and the other (Nat) here in England. Searching for children's bedding they realised there was a gap in the market - just like any other parents who has searched high and low for something other than cartoon character embellished duvets. So they created their own using Indian techniques to create quintessentially English designs with pretty and colourful products. The prices are on the higher side - you're looking at £26 for a pillowcase - but they are delicious. The range also includes some delicate union jack cushions, butterfly motifs and colourful throws. Delightful, aren't they?

Inspiring spaces: Shella's colourful beachside house

When I got my copy of Ideal Home magazine, I went straight to the article about Shella Anderson's beachside home in Essex (sample preview online here)...and I fell a little in love with it. This is not a woman who is afraid of colour and she really makes it work with bright pops everywhere, pretty Orla Kiely wallpaper and a tantalising mishmash of prints. If you're looking for colour inspiration, definitely snap up the mag.

However, I've also spied the house online at Cookie mag where there are lots of other pictures and an interview - the girls' bedrooms, like the baby nursery above, are beautiful but look out for the great living room and the oh so pretty painted bench. Shella also has Flickr photos here (if you don't mind whiling away far too long cooing at her home).

I don't see why the nursery or children's room should be stuffed full of Winnie the Pooh prints and teddy bears (though I'll confess to having Winnie prints for my oldest son) - especially when there are gorgeous prints like this to be had.

The colours, numbers and pretty patterns are very appealing and it gives me a lift every time a see it. I've seen it crop up in numerous different places now and if you want it (and I really do), it's $55 at Binth and they will take international orders.

Customised child's Cath Kidston cowboy chair

I don't need to tell you that eBay is a great source for unusual, one-off items. We all know that. However, I can tell you about this brilliant find. Cath Kidston fans will recognise the Cowboy fabric used to upholster this child-sized chair (suitable for up to around 9/10 years) and it comes in a bunch of other fabrics too for £75 from seller bethbloss.
