I'm all for encouraging wildlife to my garden but I'm not so keen on those functional wire tubes with nuts inside that hang from branches. This Geo birdhouse, however, is fabulous. I love the geometric domes and that burst of white against a tree would look amazing.[via {Black. White. Yellow} ]

Hide the kitty litter with an ingenius unit

Got a cat, hate the litter? Me too. It may be a necessity but where do you put the kitty facilities? This Craftster poster customised an Ikea washstand into a clever kitty unit with the litter tray inside and an entry/exit flap on the side so that her cat could do what it needed to do and she didn't have to see it.

Toast's mouse mat

A mouse mat that isn't for your PC mouse? Very droll. I don't know if anyone can persuade a cat to sleep in one place as opposed to wherever it feels like it (including on your head) but it could be tried with this Muir and Osborne mouse mat.

The oatmeal coloured wool mat measures 73x60cm and costs £44.04 at Toast. When you want to incite a few giggles, put the mat in front of the fireplace like a slain beast. Good luck with trying to get a cat to actually sleep on it.

Pottery Barn's entryway dog bed cubby unit

This unit should probably win prizes for multi-tasking. Just look at the amount of cubby holes and baskets - how much stuff could you fit in it? Not to mention a dog bed at the base though I suppose you could store other living beasts there like the children.

Now I only need a few things 1. an entryway big enough in which to deposit this unit, 2. to live in the US where it's on sale for $399 at Pottery Barn, 3. a dog.
